Re: GB News - New TV Station
All going tits up by the sound of it. I was excited about it before the launch, but 10 minutes into Wootton I switched it off. I thought it was going to be a normal news channel without the left-wing bias. I know all about the culture war and the importance of fighting it, but it's fucking boring listening to people moan about the same subject all day. Give it a rest. Put some sport on it. A bit of reportage etc.

"Staff describe a split between two broad camps. Some producers and presenters come from a mainstream broadcast journalism background and felt jumping ship to the new channel would give them a fresh challenge or a career boost. Others are approaching it from a more political angle with a personal commitment to culture war topics. In Neil’s absence, the only show with relatively healthy ratings has been Dan Wootton’s late-night show, which has lent heavily into culture war issues."

Re: GB News - New TV Station
It'll have loads of viewers.

Most of them will be researchers from existing Main Stream Media organisations (and a few thousand self-appointed SM "observers") primed to flag up anything "controversial" they say or do.

Should that happen MSM/SM will respond by giving GB News a wedge of free publicity it could never afford in reality.

The saddest thing is MSM/SM won't be able to resist, so Pavlovian have both entities become.

So, am I getting this right? The people complaining about cancel culture and advertising boycotting GB News are… er.. boycotting GB News?

Dunno what's funnier. People on the left who think its some evil far-right propaganda, or people on the right who think it's gonna speak for them.

One of the GB News correspondents put up a photo of Polish fans fighting (in Poland shirts, hats and scarves) in a tweet complaining about a totally made up spate of black people being beaten up by England fans.

Fucking LOL @ anyone who thought this channel would be some sort of "answer" to the BBC/sensationalist MSM bullshit.

"Knuckle Draggers TV"

Yet you're the only person who I know who admitted they watched it?

Re: GB News - New TV Station
As an interested hack, I watched a bit of the channel's paper review last night.

It was a shitshow of epic proportions (literally, in the case of one fat and sweaty presenter).

It was like listening to a bunch of eleven-year-olds trying to get their heads around complex geo-politics. The sort of conversation that would make you laugh in the 'pundits' faces down the pub.

Absolute drivel.

Re: GB News - New TV Station
Zero viewing figures means the two regulars must have not tuned in, and instead spat at each other via Zoom.

Further down this thread, I mentioned that the real problem for GB News would be its hard finances.

Well they're absolutely fucked within a year if current viewing 'figures' carry on. No revenues and no clout.

Nobody watching, catastrophic presentation, numerous technical problems and a massive over-investment in stale-fart presenters - one of whom has already thrown a hissy fit and retreated to his house in France (there is talk of Neill wanting to present his show from France!).

It's all going swimmingly. At this rate, It'll be off the air by the end of the year.

Re: GB News - New TV Station
The idea that the anti cancel culture /Pro free speech gang had a hissy-fit over a gesture that offended them and complained and stopped watching in protest is pretty funny though.

I mean, the irony isn't lost is it.
